Asus Radeon R9 380X Strix 4GB Overclocking Results

Asus's GPU Tweak software is clunky compared to MSI Afterburner, but it does give you proper control of the card's voltage. We started by increasing the power target to its maximum, 120 percent. Once we reached 1,130MHz, the card began to crash in benchmarks, so we increased the voltage from 1,200mV to 1,350mV (the maximum permitted) and kept things stable with another 50MHz added on top, after which we started to see artefacts.

The final clock speed of 1,180MHz is a great result, and represents an increase of 15 percent over Asus's default frequency, or 22 percent over stock. It's also good to see that having that control over the voltages was genuinely beneficial. Even if you wouldn't necessarily run the voltage that high all the time, this is not something you'll get with all partners cards.

The memory, meanwhile, reached a maximum stable overclock of 6.5GHz effective, which is a respectable 14 percent boost.
